The Pope's Palace

"And he shall plant the tabernacles of his PALACE between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end and none shall help him" (Daniel 11:45).

After the great events of Sept. 20, 1870, Pope Pius XI was desperately seeking some nation in Europe to come to his aid and restore the lost dominion.... No nation volunteered.... Should he decide to abandon Rome, the British Government promised a ship to take him to Malta.

It was at that fateful time that the Vatican looked westward across the ocean to the young republic that was just saved by President Lincoln after a bitter Civil War.

Daniel, the great Jewish Prophet, was nearing the end of a long and distinguished career that spanned almost a century. He saw the rise and fall of the Babylonian Empire and the beginning of the Persian. He was shown many wonderful visions about the future down to the very end of time. He was even given the exact year of the Messiah's appearance to Israel, the cutting off of the Messiah and the destruction of Jerusalem.

The great Prophet was very curious about how it was all going to end so he set his face to seek the Lord by prayer, with supplication, and fasting to receive an answer. The battle was an intense one. Satan did everything he could to hinder the answer to his prayer. It took 3 whole weeks for the answer to get through!!

Finally the Lord appeared to him in person and told him about the intense warfare in the invisible realm and how a certain Prince of Persia had withstood him 3 whole weeks. God revealed to him in minute detail the events of the last quarter of Jewish history from the end of the Captivity to Christ. These events included:

Then He suddenly changes focus and shows Daniel the events that would transpire at the end of the last quarter of Christian history. He mentions a time of trouble such as never was followed by the resurrection of the dead and the end of the days. He mentions a great persecutor of the saints which the New Testament titles Antichrist. He even given the exact location of his headquarters.

He was to dwell between the seas in the glorious holy mountain. The "church" of Rome is the only religious organization in the world that is named after a physical location and city—the city of Rome!!

The glorious holy mountain is a common reference to the city of God—the true Congregation of Christ:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountain, and shall be exalted above the hills and all nations shall flow into it" (Isaiah 2:2).

This is the very same person that the Apostle Paul nails:

"Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." (II Thess. 2:4).

Paul is very specific about what he means by the temple of God. It is the true Congregation, not some temple at Jerusalem:

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy which temple ye are" (I Cor. 3:16-17).

In other words a Christian on the outside and Satan on the inside. Antichrist would not be an Atheist, Communist, Moslem, or Jew, but a false friend like Judas Iscariot who betrayed his Master with a kiss of friendship. Jesus said:

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15).

"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works" (II Cor. 11: 14-15).

Have the Popes claimed to be God in the temple of God? The answer is yes!! In John chapter 17 there is a title that is so reverent that it is used only once in the entire Bible. It is the Title of God the Father in Heaven:

". . . Holy Father keep them through thine own name . . . "

The Pope sits as Christ in the Vatican, and when he speaks "ex-cathedra" he speaks in place of the Holy Spirit. Thus all the Titles of the Triune God are arrogated in this one person. A bit presumptuous don't you think?

Daniel says that Antichrist would not regard the desire of women. In other words he would oppose and lightly esteem marriage. This is fulfilled by his forbidding to marry which has caused more scandals and destroyed more lives over the ages that anything else in history—a veritable weapon of mass destruction indeed.

La Popessa - the female Pope!!

La Popessa - the female Pope. Sister Pascalina, a German nun, was the housekeeper to Pope Pius XII. According to UPI, she was one of the most rarely photographed women in the world. She ruled the Vatican with an iron fist. Nobody saw the Pope without her approval. Popes have had mistresses and fathered hundreds of children during the Dark Ages.

The entire Papal system is based on one verse of the Bible, namely Matthew 16:18. In that verse it is claimed that Jesus made St. Peter the first Pope and gave him the keys of the kingdom. It is called the Primacy of Peter. Not one of the early Christians understood it to mean any such thing. The Council of Chalcedon held in the year 451 totally repudiates this idea. The first person to make such an outlandish claim was Pope Leo I. 

Daniel says that the last Pope will be a tremendous persecutor of true Protestant Christians:

"But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many" (Daniel 11:44).

This will be the Last Great Inquisition. The ultimate weapon of mass destruction!!

It was the tidings from the East that the Messiah had come into the world that caused King Herod to go into a rage and kill all the babies in Bethlehem. This last Pope will be totally possessed by Satan and he will see the handwriting on the wall!!

Interesting Notes

The city of Rome has always been associated with wolves. Romulus and Remus the legendary founders of the city were nursed by a she-wolf.

The Vikings who attacked the Christians in the British Isles for centuries were also known by their wolfish nature. Here is a description of them by a Scottish historian Dr. Alexander:

Few nations have appeared on the theatre of history, whose thirst for blood has been so intense as was that of the Scandinavian tribes, who, at the period referred to, infested the northern seas. Other nations have been ambitious, fond of military glory, greedy of conquest; and under the influence of those passions have shed blood profusely, both on the field of battle and on the scaffold. But the Scandinavian hero always presents himself to us as one whose supreme delight was in the crash and cruelty of the conflict itself. Their nature was wolfish. They rushed to strife as to a banquet. War was their pastime, their glory, their business. The surnames which they delighted to affix to their names indicate the savageness of their disposition. Among those who invaded Scotland one of the most infamous was Thorfinn, who bore the name of the Skull-cleaver; another is celebrated in the ancient Sagas as the Increaser of Terror; another is called the Food-provider for the Wolves; and many of them are, both by name and by their deeds, associated with this class of animals.

Very close to where the Pope's Palace now stands once stood the sun worship Temple of Mithra:

The Persian cult of Mithra had recently won considerable popularity at Rome, and its chief temple lay on the fringe of the Christian settlement in the Vatican district, a near neighbour of their new basilica. Here priests in white or coloured robes performed, amidst lighted candles and fumes of incense, a ceremony of consecrating bread and wine at the altar. Services in the temples of Isis ended with a Greek phrase which closely resembles the Ite, missa est at the end of the Catholic mass (massa). The Romans were unable to understand religion without such artistic expression. It was as familiar in the cults of Isis and Cybele as in the State-cult of the gods. It would be childish to suppose that the Roman Church did not borrow from these its ritual decorations and robes, just as its bishop borrowed the title of Supreme (or Sovereign) Pontiff from the head of the State-religion.
